Bite-Size video Clips Address Hard-Line Business Issues

London (UK), September 2014 - insynergi, a bespoke coaching, mentoring, and training company, has released a three-part video guide to help organisations boost essential people skills. Soft skills translate into hard profits, and organisations that prioritise their people skills will be able to create a more flexible and high-performing workforce.

According to insynergi, it is human nature for organisations to concentrate on what needs to be done and less on how they are going to take the workforce with them on the journey. Change management and managing complex projects continue to be a challenge for all business leaders irrespective of industry sector.

Eddie Kilkelly, Managing Director at insynergi, presents these videos.

  • Building a High-Performing Team, which outlines the characteristics of high-performing teams and explains how to create them
  • Soft Skills Matter, which describes how people-skills training can improve soft-skills competences.
  • Emotional Intelligence, which shows how emotional intelligence is not just a fluffy “nice to have” but can contribute measurable benefit to the bottom line.

A survey conducted earlier in the year entitled "Understanding Why Projects and Programmes May Fail" revealed a wide range of concerns for organisations. These challenges include: managing complex change with limited resources (56 percent); working with larger teams in multiple locations or teams in different countries (42 percent); skills shortages (35 percent); increasing complexity of projects (35 percent); measuring success (30 percent); and managing outsourcing/offshoring (20 percent).

Eddie Kilkelly says, "Many of the issues that are cited as the biggest challenges for organisations are intrinsically linked to people issues. Today’s employees require professional and technical skills to undertake their allocated project role, whether that is developer, project manager, sponsor, or user representative. People-facing skills can differ from the individual’s day job and HR can play a critical role in assessing competences to identify skills gaps within the project team."

Kilkelly adds, "The accelerated pace of change of projects also means it is particularly important to ensure the right people skills are available when needed. Most team leaders will not choose their own teams so inevitably there is a degree of compromise. What matters is how these individuals are shaped into a high-performance team. Our bite-size videos clips offer key points to consider in getting the best out of your workforce."
