AAT Phases Out Paper-Based Exams
The decision to phase out the hard-copy versions with the former qualifications was announced at the AAT annual conference for training providers in April 2010. The AAT eAssessments are the most innovative and relevant accounting exams currently available - the exam questions replicate work-based scenarios faced by accounting technicians.
The flexibility of the eAssessment system means that students can sit an exam at any time, and they no longer have to wait ten weeks to receive their results, as provisional results are provided instantly upon completion of the exam. To aid familiarity with the eAssessment system, students can access free practice exams via the AAT website at any time.
Susan Harper, Manager AAT Exams says, "The computer-based assessments we have developed with BTL enable us to assess students' skills and knowledge in a robust way that reflects and prepares them for the workplace of today."
The Surpass eAssessment software is easy to install and administer. Centres need not worry about exam security and integrity, as each candidate will sit an individual exam, whilst access to all other computer applications is restricted.
