The Challenge of Open Ideas
The motto of the eduhub days 2011 is "The Challenge of Open Ideas": Should institutions of higher education opt for open or closed systems? What are the challenges and potentials of open systems for learners, lecturers and institutions? Should open systems be integrated in existing (closed) systems, supplement or replace these?
What is the potential of social software in higher education? What are the advantages of Personal Learning Environments versus Virtual Learning Environments? Will Open Educational Resources become a relevant factor in the education market? What can we expect in the future? These and many other questions will be presented and discussed at the eduhub days 2011.
The keynote speakers are
- Prof. Dr. Andrea Back (HSG, University of St. Gallen): "Openness 2.0: Can we Design Learning Environments for the Loss of Control?"
- Teemu Arina (Dicole, Helsinki, Finland): "Cloud Learning: Learning Environments in the Cloud Era".
The Conference fee and meals are offered by SWITCH; accommodation is not included. The third eduhub days offer a great opportunity for you to meet, exchange views about the latest innovations, and to reflect on practice.
Registration is open until 25 February 2011.
