New Chief Learning Officer at Certpoint
Denis joins Certpoint following fourteen years at The Hartford Financial Services Group, where he most recently managed the learning of the company's employees throughout the US; he had previously served as Assistant VP of Corporate Education.
At The Hartford, Denis was responsible for introducing a range of learning technologies, including video conferencing, web-based events, and eLearning. He was also responsible for all aspects of general business and leadership training.
Denis is an Adjunct Professor for the University of Connecticut graduate school, where he has developed and delivers courses, including graduate courses. He also teaches in Southern Illinois University's Workforce Education program. "Denis brings a wealth of practical experience in the application of learning technologies in the workplace, backed up with solid academic credentials", says Ara Ohanian, Certpoint Systems CEO.
Previously, Denis was an officer in the US Navy, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. His career included twelve years at the Naval Submarine School, culminating as the director of distance learning for the submarine force. He has a BS in vocational education from Southern Illinois University, an MA from the University of Connecticut, an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix.
Denis' extensive experience in distance learning was one reason for joining Certpoint. "The company is clearly extremely innovative in its approach to learning - with particular strength in mobile delivery. It will be great to be part of a team delivering the innovative organizational learning that Certpoint makes possible. I believe my wide experience of establishing great distance learning will be of value at Certpoint, and I look forward to continuing to learn myself", adds Denis.
