Medea Awards Deadline Coming Up!
The European Collaboration Award recognizes excellent media-based productions and projects that come about as a result of European cross-border collaboration.
The organizers are making a distinction between professional and non-professional producers, recognizing the best entry in each category. Participants can submit their entries in French, English or German, and once the entry has been submitted, they can follow its progress online.
Prizes in 2009 included software and hardware, as well as the MEDEA bronze statuette for the overall winner. In addition, all finalists will be invited to Brussels to take part in the Media & Learning conference, which will include sessions dedicated to various media applications led by winners and finalists of the MEDEA awards 2008, 2009, and 2010.
The MEDEA Awards jury is made up of over seventy professionals in the media and learning sectors. They include educational-media producers, practitioners experienced in the use of media for education and training, and stakeholders in relevant organizations all over Europe. Many of them work with organizations that are part of the network of National Contact Points in 26 European countries who help to promote MEDEA.
Online judging takes place this year in August and September, and people wishing to volunteer as judges are invited to visit the MEDEA website and register their interest.
The MEDEA Awards will provide a core element in the new Media & Learning. And to coincide with the Belgium's assumption of the Presidency of the European Union, a conference entitled "Towards the Era of Digital Fluency" is being organized in collaboration with the Flemish Ministry of Education and the European Commission Directorate-General for Education and Culture. The dates are 25-26 November; the venue is the Flemish Ministry of Education Headquarters in Brussels.
