Maltese project wins EUN eLearning Awards
Piotr Mroz, a board member at Young Digital Planet, presented teacher Emmanuel Zammit with a crystal trophy, a cheque for €3,000, and an interactive whiteboard set sponsored by SMAR Technologies for his school. Thirteen schools were recipients in the 2007 eLearning Awards, for a total of €40,000 in cash prizes and equipment.
The eLearning Awards, organized by European Schoolnet, is one of the leading competitions for schools in Europe, demonstrating how they contribute to the building of knowledge economy.
Maltese Education Minister Louis Galea congratulated Emmanuel Zammit on his accomplishment, citing him to all students as an example that Malta's size is not a handicap when it comes to developing and using talents. Dr. Galea also congratulated the team working within the Technology in Education Department, which has, over the past few years, brought about an incredible paradigm shift in the way technology is used as an educational tool.
