Pearson Joins Forces with Scoopshot
Pearson will use the service to source a variety of user-generated visual content from around the world. To date, Pearson's requirements have been focused around regional content, provided by Scoopshot's users via its free app. Utilizing Scoopshot's user base of over 600,000 mobile photographers, Pearson has geo-targeted amateur photographers to capture the visual content it requires at a fraction of the price it would cost to commission a professional photographer.
Travis Amos, Associate Director of Image Management/Image Vendor Strategy, Pearson commented, "Commissioning visual content is expensive for content-creation providers. Pearson has found value in using Scoopshot to easily source regional photography of monuments and other precise locations not available from traditional stock-photography services."
Petri Rahja, Founder and CEO of Scoopshot added, "It's the speed at which content can be sourced that makes a difference to businesses like Pearson. What our community can source in a matter of minutes can take hours if not days from traditional photography sources. Adding to this, our patent-pending authentication technology means that Pearson can quickly and easily establish the credibility and source of the photos it is looking to purchase. In a world where news and content are being produced and disseminated 24 hours a day, we expect demand for real-time content to continue to increase."
