ELearning as an Engine for Change
A great number of education experts will present their research and case studies about the latest innovations in educational leadership, social and online learning, frameworks for online education, cultural integration of open-educational resources, and the rise of Massive Open Online Courses.
Featuring international keynote speakers – including Prof. Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Mosa, President of the Saudi e-University and Dr. Joseph A. Planell, President of Universitat Oberta de Catalunya – the Conference's aim is to be a catalyst and an engine of change for teachers, learners, and everyone else involved in the educational field.
An overview of eLearning trends and innovations will be given by Dr. Larry Johnson, CEO of the New Media Consortium (NMC), an international community of experts in educational technology offering practical advice to hundreds of universities, museums, and organizations.
ELearning's potential to transform primary education will be addressed by Dino Varkey, COO of GEMS education, a multi-faceted international education company that owns and operates high-performing schools in Dubai and elsewhere.
The Conference will also serve as a forum for discussing the latest eLearning innovations, such as the Cloud Campus Initiative launched by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University. Special interest groups will be dedicated to specific issues like ICT in primary education, quality in eLearning, re-engineering the GCC Higher Education talent base and workforce, and publishers' material integration. Major educational software companies like Blackboard, McGraw Hill; and Pearson will also be present.
