LOTOS Capital Group Speeds Up Decision Making

Warsaw (PL), May 2012 - Polycom, Inc, a provider of open standards-based unified communications (UC), has been selected by LOTOS Group, a producer and supplier of oil products across Poland and abroad, to provide a unified communications solution to better connect its 5,000 employees through video collaboration.

Headquartered in Gdansk, with operations spread out in numerous locations, LOTOS Group needed a secure and reliable videoconferencing solution to enable colleagues to connect and collaborate with each other from any location at any time. Along with the decision to expand its video-collaboration solutions, LOTOS Group saw the benefits of having all employees use Microsoft® Lync™ on their desktop PCs. These, in turn, were connected with Polycom RealPresence video solutions to provide a unified communications experience.

Employees can check whether people are present at their desks, IM them to ask about their availability for a meeting, and calendar, initiate, or join a high-definition videoconference from their PC using the solution. Lukasz Nowakowski, IT Coordinator at LOTOS explained the rationale for choosing Polycom. "Our decision to work with Polycom on this project was determined by the ease of integration and scalability of its products. We wanted to add the videoconferencing services without impacting our existing network."

To counsel LOTOS Group through the ambitious project, Lukasz Nowakowski turned to the expertise of NextiraOne, a Polycom certified partner, to implement a total unified communications solution to drive video collaboration throughout the organization. The solutions provided to LOTOS Group deliver advanced features and HD video, voice, and content sharing to make visuals more lifelike and meetings more productive.

Benefits for LOTOS Group include lower business-travel costs and higher employee productivity. Also, the company can now communicate to employees more effectively and economically, which encourages knowledge sharing company wide.

LOTOS Group's board believes that Polycom video collaboration has vastly improved the overall speed of decision making, along with inter-team communication and collaboration. Now board meetings as well as controlling and accounting team meetings are held via Polycom video, with board members dialling into the conference from wherever they are.
