International Quality Label for eLearning Courseware
Smartphones, tablets, and computers have become an everyday part of the learning process, but the technology often fails to live up to the promises made for it. This is because a lack of concern for the quality of the courseware leads to reluctance on the part of potential users to adopt eLearning approaches.
After ten months of development, the quality label epprobate was officially rolled out on 21 March with a reception and moderated talk at the Learning Agency Network office in Brussels.
The talk round served as an interactive way of presenting the quality philosophy, the partner structure, and the benefits of epprobate. Among the guests were Harvey Mellar, Director of epprobate, Pascal Balancier from the AWT.be, and Bert Coolen from BE-ODL as representatives of the epprobate head reviewers and national partners.
epprobate (from the Latin "approbare", to approve) is the first international quality label for eLearning courseware. It is an initiative of three organisations: The Learning Agency Network (LANETO), the Agence Wallonne des Télécommunication (AWT), and the eLearning Quality Service Center (eLQSC).
