LEARNING LIVE Hits #1 in UK Trends

Coventry (UK), September 2012 - LEARNING LIVE 2012 entertained over 400 delegates in London, but thousands worldwide were able to join in via social media. According to an online report from PeopleBrowser, #LEARNINGLIVE was mentioned over 3,500 times across the two-day event, with participants interacting worldwide.

Edmund Monk, Managing Director of event organisers The Learning and Performance Institute (LPI), said, "To be the most popular social media topic in the UK was a fantastic achievement. The footprint left by LEARNING LIVE is growing every year, and this year in particular it's been felt on a global scale. We have to thank all of the speakers and exhibitors for bringing such great insight and content to the event and to the delegates who were willing to share what they've learnt with the wider online community."

There were many highlights at LEARNING LIVE 2012 that contributed to its social media popularity. Leading L&D commentator Elliott Masie live linked from the US to provide his thoughts on the state of the learning sector during the sold-out networking dinner. Former Olympian Professor Greg Whyte delivered an inspiring keynote entitled "Success Is Not a Chance Event", drawing on his experiences of training celebrities such as Eddie Izzard and David Walliams to complete Sports Relief fundraising challenges.

The Conference sessions also had a few surprises this year. The International Think Tank brought together senior learning professionals from across the globe to debate the differences in learning cultures and how we could facilitate greater collaboration. In the main Conference sessions, Mike Collins managed to successfully run both an online and live presentation simultaneously during his session - appropriately entitled "Using Live Online Learning for Organisation Collaboration."

Event organisors The Learning and Performance Institute (LPI) have confirmed that next year's LEARNING LIVE will again be hosted at the etc. Venues conference centre in St Paul's.
