World of Learning with Seminar Showcases
New for this year is the Mindfulness Zone, where visitors can discover why Silicon Valley has dubbed this training technique "the new caffeine". Through instructional workshops from mindfulness experts, visitors can sample the techniques for themselves and understand how they can be successfully integrated into the workplace to combat stress. The Team Building Zone, also introduced this year, is a fun area where attendees can connect with their peers at a variety of group activities and take away ideas to implement in their own workplace. Also new for this year is Team Tonic, where a team of experts from the Learning Architect will equip visitors with strategies for sustaining productivity and resilience in the workplace.
The popular Technology Test Drive area offers visitors the opportunity to sample cutting-edge L&D technology away from the exhibition stands and at their own pace. Visitors from overseas can meet with leading suppliers in a one-to one environment at the International Zone, facilitated by UK Trade & Investment
Alongside these free features are a vast range of educational and interactive seminars. The Experiential Learning Zone has a series of bite-sized skill sessions on key areas such as emotional intelligence and fusion learning. Visitors can enhance their own skill set at the Professional Skill Workshops and attend a packed programme of seminars across two theatres. At the free seminars, a host of experts will cover key industry subjects ranging from mobile learning, neuroscience, and emotional engagement to blended learning, eLearning, gaming, and leadership development.
Following their successful introduction last year, The World of Learning also offers fringe seminars, a free-to-attend stream of the main conference. These are designed for anyone interested in more alternative topics to the central themes of the Conference. Industry leaders from the Institute of Leadership Management, the Learning Technologies Group, and Sky are all set to share their advice on all aspects of L&D.
"Visitors can ensure they are up to date with the latest trends and products, learn from leading industry practitioners, and network – all under one roof", explains Andrew Gee, Senior Project Manager for the World of Learning Conference & Exhibition. "The wide range of free interactive features and seminars means that visitors can sample the latest L&D methods for themselves, before implementing back in their own workplace."
The World of Learning 2014 is held in association with the British Institute for Learning & Development, The Institute of Leadership and Management, and UK Trade and Investment.
