Lost in Transition?
Pathways to Successful Learning in Organisations
St. Gallen (CH), April 2013 - The fifth international scil Congress will take place 06 - 07 June 2013, hosted by the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. This year, the Congress found its topics in practice: L&D leaders and learning professionals are currently confronted with quite a variety of changes and may feel "lost in transition".
The issues are indeed manifold:
- How are we going to position ourselves as a learning organization?
- What is our strategy to achieve this new positioning?
- What is the right portfolio of services?
- What are the right forms of learning for our organization?
- What are the competences required – on the part of learners, on the part of learning professionals, and on the part of leaders?
The scil Congress 2013 is devoted to these issues and will point out pathways to successful learning in organizations. In particular, three areas will be in focus:
- "Being": What are our (role) models for successful learning and development in organizations? Where are we going to be tomorrow?
- "Knowing": What are the key issues and solutions for those managing the learning function?
- "Doing": What are successful and good practices that have proven viable?
The time of the fifth international scil Congress also coincides with scil’s tenth anniversary. scil was established in 2003 through a generous grant from the Gebert Rüf Foundation. scil can look back on a decade of experience with professional development, consulting, and research. The scil team will provide a personal review of these ten years and also look at what is ahead in learning management.
