Leadership and Collaboration in Virtual Groups
The conference addresses thinkers interested in digital work: scientists, managers, consultants, and students will discuss the status quo of digital work and develop scenarios for the future. The aim is to spark a discourse and observe current trends in this ever-changing context through keynotes and workshops.
It is necessary to think about working processes. What are the differences between digital work and traditional work relationships? And what kinds of online work environments make virtual groups successful? The speakers will share their insights from both the academic and entrepreneurial points of view regarding success factors, challenges, and implementation in organizations.
The conference has been jointly organized by the eLearning Competence Center at HTW Berlin and its business partners intercultures, learning.de (Berlin) and Perform Globally (Stuttgart) to offer both the academic and business perspectives. International experts will come together online and offline to participate in specialist keynotes, interactive workshops, and networking on 02 October 2013. Main points will include various strategies on how to prepare leaders, employees, and students for a global work experience and business insights of successful implementation.
A number of speakers, e.g. from Stony Brook University (USA), contributors from the field of global cooperation, and business experts, will get the attendees in the mood for ideation and prototyping workshops. After gathering theoretical input and examples of digital work processes, conference participants will work with these ideas and gain hands-on experience on how to use them in alternating workshop groups.
