Berlin, July 2005 - The preliminary version of the programme of the eleventh annual ONLINE BERLIN EDUCA - the International conference on technology supported education and training - is now online. The extensive agenda of December 1st and 2nd is complemented this year by several fora and workshops taking place on November 29th and 30th.
The Asia-Pacific Forum opens doors to the East. Led by Gerry White, Director of the National Education and Training Technology Agency in Australia, contributions by prominent speakers from China, New Zealand, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Australia, Japan and Singapore will offer insight into this rapidly growing training market. November 30.
ELearning is gaining in significance as an element of the training strategies of the military as well as security agencies worldwide, and ONLINE BERLIN EDUCA 2005 has gathered a team of specialists for the "eLearning for Defence and Security" Forum to elucidate this crucial topic. Headed by Dr. Harold Elletson, Director of the New Security Programme at the Centre for Defence and International Security Studies, speakers include Peter Ryan, Security Officer of the International Olympic Committee, Christian Sommade, Secretary-General of the French High Committee for Civil Defence, and Fernando Carvalho Rodrigues of the NATO forum -œSecurity through Science-, among others. At the centre of the discussion are the challenges confronting governments and the e-learning industry in view of the ever changing international security context. November 29 - 30.
The forum on the Arab eLearning market is convening for the second time. The future of eLearning in the area forms the focus of the Middle East eLearning Forum & Exchange, which has been extended to one and a half days and will again offer numerous possibilities for the establishment and maintenance of professional contacts. Sixteen further interactive Workshops on a broad variety of topics are also taking place. For example there is a session dealing with the work of the German governmental agency GTZ in developing countries (in cooperation with the German Development Service DED and the German international education and development organization INWENT.) ONLINE EDUCA BERLIN 2005 is accompanied by an extensive exhibition. Prominent eLearning providers and developers, training providers, publishers, public and governmental institutions, universities as well as the European Commission will introduce their proposals and programmes in the area of technology supported learning.
