Security & Defence Learning 2011 in Berlin

Berlin (GER), November 2011 - Security-training experts, including two Generals, an Air Vice Marshal, and a former defence minister who discovered the benefit of online learning during a spell in prison, will be the keynote speakers at this year's "Security & Defence Learning" in Berlin on 30 November 2011.

The one-day event takes place in conjunction with Online Educa Berlin, the largest global eLearning conference for the corporate, education, and public-service sectors.

The new head of training for the Royal Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Mike Lloyd, will address the Security & Defence Learning Forum in Berlin at the end of November on the Royal Air Force's experience in technology-assisted learning. The Rector Commandant of the Polish Defence University, Major General Romauld Ratajczak, will speak about innovative approaches to education and training at the Polish Defence University.

The Security & Defence Forum, now in its seventh year, will also hear from Dr Harald Niggemann of Germany's Federal Office of Information Security. He will speak about the foundation of a modular training centre in Germany and its focus on preventative cyber security. Jonathan Aitken, former British Cabinet Minister and prisoner, is to address the subject of education in prison, focussing on learning, radicalization, and rehabilitation issues.

Harold Elletson, Chairman of The Security & Defence Forum's organising body, The New Security Foundation, says, "Security and defence Learning will examine important issues for training in several major sectors. We will be covering such subjects as pilot training, innovation, border security, prison learning, and the use of serious games by police forces. Conference participants will also be fascinated to hear Jonathan Aitken's view on learning, rehabilitation, and radicalisation in prisons."
