Multi-stranded Conference Event in Malaysia

Putrajaya (MY), September 2010 - The eighteenth International Conference on Computers in Education, ICCE 2010, is a meta-conference for researchers in the Asia-Pacific region to connect with international research communities for the worldwide dissemination and sharing of ideas for research in the field of computers in education. It is being held from 29 November to 3 December 2010 in Putrajaya, the federal administrative centre of Malaysia.



The six theme-based sub-conferences in the five-day conference will foster the building of research communities in the field of computers in education. Researchers and graduate students are welcomed to participate in the Conference to exchange research findings in the frontier areas of computers in education.

The event offers paper presentations, workshops, open forums, tutorials, doctoral-student consortia, panel discussions, and interactive sessions under the following six themes:

C1: Artificial Intelligence in Education/Intelligent Tutoring System (AIED/ITS) and Adaptive Learning

C2: Computer-supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) and Learning Sciences

C3: Advanced Learning Technologies, Open Contents, and Standards

C4: Classroom, Ubiquitous, and Mobile Technologies Enhanced Learning (CUMTEL)

C5: Game and Toy Enhanced Learning and Society (GTEL&S)

C6: Technology, Pedagogy, and Education

The keynote in the Artificial Intelligence Track will be held by Helen Pain of the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland on the theme 'Supporting Social Communication in Children through Intelligent Technology'. Hanafi Atan of the School of Distance Education at the University Sains Malaysia will present his keynote on 'Activity Tools for Constructivist Pedagogies in the Web-Based Learning Environment' in the track on Technology, Pedagogy and Education.
