eLearning Africa 2012: First Keynote Speakers Confirmed
eLearning Africa is the Continent's largest annual conference on ICT for development, education, and training. It is a prime networking opportunity and an unrivalled platform for discussion amongst decision-makers in government, the private sector, and education.
An educator of note, Mitra is Professor of Educational Technology at Newcastle University in the UK and also Visiting Professor at MIT in the US. His impressive academic profile, extensive experience in ICT for education, and his colourful presentation style will make for a lively speech.
Joining Mitra in the lineup of distinguished presenters is Dorcus Muthoni, a Nairobi-based computer scientist and the Chief Executive Officer of Openworld, an e-Government and business technology solutions firm. She is also the founder of the AfChix network, which provides mentorship for young women and career support for those already established in the computing field.
Theophilus E. Mlaki, the former Director of Information at the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) will also make a plenary speech at eLearning Africa 2012. Mlaki has an extensive history in the ICT arena including ongoing work as the senior advisor in Tanzania for Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) of Canada and as a national coordinator of Swedish Program for ICT for Developing Countries (SPIDER).
