Eight-week Training Opportunity Coming up in April

New York, NY (USA), March 2012 - Kaleidoscope Learning has announced that the eLearning design course "Workplace eLearning: Creating an Effective eLearning User Experience" is being offered again this spring. Registration is open to all; the course takes place 02 April - 25 May.

Instructor Dr. David Guralnick has been designing eLearning for large and small companies for over twenty years and has been the recipient of numerous eLearning design awards. He is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University, where he teaches eLearning design, president of the International eLearning Association, as well as founder and chair of the International Conference on ELearning in the Workplace.

The course focuses on the design of eLearning in workplace environments from a perspective that looks to put academic research into practice. Real-world cases, including numerous demonstrations of real-life courses and systems, will be used to explore uses of eLearning in the workplace for both training and "just-in-time" performance-support purposes.

The full course fee is $549 with a $30 discount for members of the International ELearning Association (IELA).

Course topics include (among others) the designing of eLearning courses, support to solve real-world problems, research in cognition and motivation as it relates to eLearning design, current trends, and usability studies.

Over eight weeks, the course includes:

  • video demonstrations of real-life eLearning stories
  • weekly readings and discussions in online forums
  • video/audio online discussions with Dr. Guralnick and other eLearning experts
  • a learning-by-doing approach: Participants design an eLearning or performance product for a workplace situation.
