Edutainment 2011 - Conference on eLearning and Games

Taipei (TW), March 2011 - Edutainment 2011 is the sixth International Conference on eLearning and Games. It provides an international forum for researchers and practitioners in various disciplines to share and exchange experience in the emerging research area combining education and entertainment. Edutainment 2011 will be held in Taipei, Taiwan, on 09 September 2011.




Edutainment 2011 has become a major international conference that facilitates an international exchange in regard to state-of-the-art efforts in academic research and practice. The Conference covers all aspects of pedagogical principles, designs, and technological issues related to education and entertainment.

Edutainment is hosted by the National Taiwan Normal University, National Central University, and National Sun Yat-Sen University and is co-hosted by the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at the National Central University, Taiwan.

The Conference Proceedings will be published as a volume in Lecture Notes in Computer Science, Springer (EI). Selected papers will be recommended to submit their extended full version for possible publication in Transactions on Edutainment or Interactive Learning Environments (SSCI).

The following topics, among others, will be addressed:

  • location-based games and ubiquitous technology
  • social and cultural aspects of animation techniques
  • collaborative environments and learning
  • digital museum and digital heritage
  • effectiveness of virtual reality for education
  • eLearning platforms and tools
  • game-based learning/training
  • synergies between digital tv and edutainment
  • virtual reality in education
  • non-visual senses (smell, touch, hearing)

  • authors' notification - 01 June 2011
  • camera-ready version - 15 June 2011

Submissions are invited in the following categories:

  • full papers - eight pages
  • short papers - five pages
  • posters - two pages
