More Attractive and Open to Other Training Providers
Valuable experience and numerous ideas from users have been assembled from the MOOCs offered so far, and these have been incorporated into the new platform. The intention of the improvements to the user interface and learning logic is to make it even easier for users to successfully take part in MOOC courses. The platform is available in German and English and can comfortably be used at home or in the workplace - with all current tablets or with a PC.
Another intention of the new developments is to further increase the pass quota of twenty percent, which is relatively high compared with other MOOC platforms. To this end, the platform can also support “SPOCs” (small, private online courses). This new form of online course is not only targeted at the general public; it also provides individual assistance and support for participants in their personal course sequence. SPOCs created for smaller learning groups will also be available on OpenCourseWorld in the future.
In addition, IMC has opened up its MOOC platform to other training providers as part of its "OpenCourseWorld as a Service". As of now, training providers, professional education institutions, and companies on OpenCourseWorld can set up and operate their own courses on the cloud platform.
Anyone who requires support in the development of such courses can rely on the MOOC Factory programme from IMC: the MOOC experts provide support – using efficient methods and state-of-the-art instruments and tools – from the design stage to production and through to provision.
