To Offer Technology to Other Sectors
The poker-education site, rolled out February 2014, allows users to be much more engaged in the learning experience and to improve their decision-making by watching real-life situations, faced by some of the world's best players, as an interactive video replay.
In these short interactive videos, displayed as challenges, the user takes the "seat" of the well-known pro and is asked in each situation to choose the correct play from several options. Users can then compare their decision with both the pros' and the choices made by other users from all over the world. Finally, users can also watch the entire video supported by expert analysis of the play.
Leo Bar, founder of 1to5.com, said the success of the site has prompted expansion plans into other areas where the interactive video technology can help education content be more efficient, easy to understand and remember, and even more fun to learn "We've applied for a patent for the technology and are looking at other sectors where decision-making and choice are key such as finance, business, management, the economy, and even other skill games where the tool could be used for interactive learning across a wide range of skill sets using real-life situations to prompt better decision-making."
"Our users are much more engaged in the learning experience when faced with interactive challenges, and we feel this will be a great fit for many other sectors where the educational experience can often be dry, dull, or flat. Any educational site can use our technology, for example, as a preview to the topic being learned or at any stage of the learning process."
