Learn Appeal Announces Appointment of New CEO
Technology-enabled learning has the potential to change lives, and this is central to Learn Appeal’s mission. With past appointments at Becta and the Learning and Performance Institute, Price brings an unparalleled background to the role, which she will assume on a part-time basis following her recent retirement.
The charity aims to raise £50,000 in its first year and is already supporting initiatives including "Open School in a Box" – a project providing digital learning resources and GCSE-level content for disadvantaged children in remote areas. Founder of Learn Appeal and CEO of Learning Technologies Group plc (LTG) Jonathan Satchell said, "I speak on behalf of our Board of Trustees when I say we are delighted to have Lesley Price as our new Chief Executive. She has made a significant contribution to education and corporate learning throughout her career, and I am excited that she is bringing her extensive knowledge and network to this charity. Her commitment to learning causes has always been second to none, and now her passion, drive, and skills will help support those that need it the most."
Price said, "I am extremely proud to be appointed as the new CEO of Learn Appeal. It is an excellent charity, working with a number of worthwhile causes, and it will be a privilege to guide its future activities and support its growth. I have worked across many different facets of education during my career and am thrilled to put this experience and insight to good use. Everybody has the right to learn, and I am looking forward to turning this vision into a reality." Learn Appeal is actively engaging with eLearning organisations across the industry.
